I love where I live!

Q and I went to SF today. It was a beautiful day! We had a lovely 5 mile walk along the water by Crissy Field then touched the base of the Golden Gate bridge. We then went to a favorite place of ours to eat...The Grove! I had the most delightful salad and hummus. After that we went for a manicure/pedicure....Q's first ever! I have bright red toes nails now and light purple finger nails. I really want to like fish. Its so good for you! When I found out that Q was coming to visit I asked her to teach me to cook fish! Tonight she did. It was delicious! I can't wait to try to cook it myself!
Now on to the weight loss section for today. I thought I made good choices today at The Grove until I went home to journal it. Eating out is so hard knowing what you are eating! The lunch turns out that it was probably 20 pts. I am really unsure! I didnt eat the bread that came on the salad and I picked off most of the blue cheese chunks but I am not sure about the dressing so I looked up vinaigrettes and picked one of the higher point ones. I am not really sure how I could of eaten better at this place. I guess I should ask more about the dressing!
On a happier note....I want this blog to be more appealing to the eye. Look for an updated look to come to it in about a month. I found a web site where someone will design a page for you! More to come on this!

Well last night Q and I went to a delightful dinner at the cliff house. For those of you that do not live in SF it is a restaurant that is on the cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Man is it hard to eat out and stay in my points! I did some good things but I surely didnt do enough. I at 1/2 of my roll (but it was a large roll to begin with) and I didnt eat all of my steak or potatoes. I still went up to 41 points yesterday.....31 is how many I get a day! Weight watchers gives you 35 extra "flex" points for the week. Sadly mine are gone this week. This is the first week I have really used my flex points....and I used them with GUSTO! They are all gone! Anyway....it was a great night.

Today Q and I are heading back to SF. We are going to do my favorite walk (Thank you Hannah for introducing me to it!) and then Q is going to get her first Mani/Pedi! I am sure we will get coffee at a great little coffee shop place called The Grove. I am planning on getting a salad at the Grove.

Q (One of my best friends) is here for the weekend from AZ. She is the one that encouraged me to make this silly blog in the first place.....you can send all the blame to her! Anyways...she is very fitness minded. Its been so fabulous to have her here and talk about all this weight loss stuff with her. She has been on my journey and been able to maintain her healthy weight.

We got up this morning and went for a 4 mile walk. Meggie (another friend) lives 2 miles away and is in Hawaii (so far she is ok from the tsunamis.) I am feeding her birds for her....so we walked to he place and back this morning. In a few minutes we are going to head to the gym. I am not going to do anything too crazy there....might just do the bike for a while then walk on the treadmill or something. I dont want my body to totally go into shock! Walk and Gym! YIKES!!!

Tonight is the exciting part! We are going to San Francisco to eat at the Cliff House. http://www.cliffhouse.com/ and I use to go there some when she lived out here. YUMMY! I have already looked at the menu. I am planning on getting the filet steak dry grilled. I am sure I will have some salad with it and the spinach! Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I am eating low points till then. I will post pictures....dont worry!

Weight watchers is all about the points. 50 cals is about 1 point...give or take. I get 31 point right now. Here is the part that really sucks....as you loose weight.....you loose points. (Sidebar- Mom, I am not sure if I am using the word losse correctly...she sent me an email telling me in my last post I didnt use it correctly. Life with professors as parents is not always easy!) I guess I am hoping on Monday (my weigh in day) that I loose weight but not too much cause I would hate to loose points!

Anyway....not really sure what I am doing with this blog thing. If you have any suggestions let me know!

In the beginning!

Hello World! Welcome to my blog! My name is Marion but I am mostly called "Murn." I am a 33 year old Emergency Department nurse living in the San Francisco Bay area. I am single. I am FAT! I have been fat all of my life. I have decided 2010 is going to be my year to change that. 2010 is my year. One of my best friends came to visit me and suggested I do a blog to track my progress....so here it is. I am not sure my life is that interesting but I am hoping to track my changes here as well as anything else life throws my way.
I started my weight loss journey on 1/4/10. I knew that was my starting date for months before the day came. I guess it was somewhat like when someone stops smoking.....set a date. I am doing the weight watchers program. I have done weight watchers many many times but never for this long! I have 2 friends going to the meetings with me. Its been great having the support of them going through this with me. I also have a best friend in Mississippi that I spend a LOT of time talking about weight loss with and he is also on the journey of loosing weight.
Besides weight watchers I have taken up going for walks. My ultimate dream is to be a runner. Both of my parents jog. I would love to be able to go for a 6 mile run. I am not there yet so I am walking. I hope to show great walking spots in the bay area in this blog.
On 1/4/10 I weighed 271.8, which is my heaviest...I hope ever! On 2/22/10 I was 252.8 at my weight watchers meeting....for a total loss of 19 lbs. I am happy with that but have a lot longer to go. By 2011 I want to be under 200lbs for the first time in my adult life.

So that is me. This is my journey. I will be posting many things on here that are not about my weight loss. I have finally put me first on my list and am making this happen!
