Happy St Patricks Day to you!

Well lets start with the important stuff! We went to WW this morning and all 3 of that go together lost!! Woohooo! I lost 2.4lbs this week bring my grand total to (drum roll please!!!)
26.2 lbs
I think I have mentioned before that you get 5 pound awards. I got that for hitting 25 pounds. I got another 5 lbs start for my bookmark (the lower yellow star is the new one.)

Apparently WW also gives you a "charm" for your keychain when you hit a loss of 25 lbs. There is a slight problem with this though.....you dont get your WW keychain until you lose 10% of your weight. 10% of my beginning weight is 27.2 lbs so I am still a pound away from it. I guess they assume that you start under 250lbs so you hit your 10% before your 25lbs loss award. I am hoping I have the keychain on monday at my next weigh in. Here is my charm.

I went to the gym with my best gym rat friend DJ! We went after work today. I did only 1 mile on the treadmill but I jogged the first 1/2 of that mile then I jogged the last 0.1. I know this is sad.....I can not run a mile.....but mark my word...I will. SOON! Anyways....after my mile I did the stationary bike. The gym only has 2 of these specific bikes that I LOVE. You pick your course and on the screen infront of me is the trail you are riding on. You pass other riders and have to steer the bike. I have been doing the course called "campus." You start and end at the football stadium and the finishing line says....Go Tigers! What is not to love about this course?? I feel like I am riding through Auburn University when I am doing this course. Sadly there is not a farm in the middle of the university like Auburn but it cant be exactly like home! It also helps that this course is only 2 miles and I can do it in only 9 minutes. Here is what the screen looks like:
After hitting the treadmill and the stationary bike I jumped in the pool. I am someone that wants credit for every bit of exercise I do. I have a hard time keeping track of how many laps I have swam. I bought a fancy clock and timer thingy that I can just hit and it keeps track. That is the theory anyways. Here in lies the problem....I cant figure out how to turn the blastin thing off. Also it takes me about 10 minutes before each swim to figure out how to get it to where it counts the laps and not time them etc. It was frustrating me more than anything. I went to Sports basement and bought a $6 counter and I am much happier with it. Only to prove more expensive is not always better and I should try simple before I go for my gizmo and gadgets! (oh how I love them!)

Lastly I work with the best group of people! Here is a green glimpse of everyone dressed in green! I caught poor Hannah in the middle of a task so she still has her gloves on.

I know I am behind a day or two on posts! Let me start with the important stuff. Monday is weigh in day. I gained 0.2lbs. Gerrrr. I know I should be happy with that but I really ate very low all week. Weight Watchers gives you 35 extra "flex points" to use during the week. I didnt use any of these. So my leader said I need to eat all of my points. I am skeptical but I am willing to give it a try! So cheers to a week of eating more! YEEEE HAW! I just got done going to the grocery store to look for a few snacky items. I bought 100 cal pringles. I ate a pack on the way home. Guess what? You dont get very many pringles for 100 calories. I suppose that is the idea! I'll let you know how that goes.

Yesterday I went to Meggie's barn. I had a great idea....I'll hike while you ride the horses. It was a beautiful day in northern california. I mentioned in my last post that I have a very sore pinky toe. Well on Sunday morning the ole toe was feeling pretty good. Well I discoved it was fine in flip flops. The blister was not so good when I put on shoes. I went to the barn but didnt hike. I really need this toe to heal! Quickly! Its slowin me down on my walking and that is not okay!




After the barn Meg and I went to SF. Myra was a traveling nurse in our ED about 4 years ago and was in town visiting Hannah. We all met for dinner and drinks. (I drank water.....didnt want to waste any points since I was weighing in the next morning!) I also skipped the donut dipping desert. (AND to think I STILL didnt lose any weight this week!!! Gerrr again!) After dinner we went back to Hannah and Chucks condo and played a wild card game of Kansas City. I would be very interested if anyone has heard of that game because we think Meg's family created it. It was a lovely day overall.
Here's to hoping eating more makes me lose more!

In the beginning!




Hello World! Welcome to my blog! My name is Marion but I am mostly called "Murn." I am a 33 year old Emergency Department nurse living in the San Francisco Bay area. I am single. I am FAT! I have been fat all of my life. I have decided 2010 is going to be my year to change that. 2010 is my year. One of my best friends came to visit me and suggested I do a blog to track my progress....so here it is. I am not sure my life is that interesting but I am hoping to track my changes here as well as anything else life throws my way.
I started my weight loss journey on 1/4/10. I knew that was my starting date for months before the day came. I guess it was somewhat like when someone stops smoking.....set a date. I am doing the weight watchers program. I have done weight watchers many many times but never for this long! I have 2 friends going to the meetings with me. Its been great having the support of them going through this with me. I also have a best friend in Mississippi that I spend a LOT of time talking about weight loss with and he is also on the journey of loosing weight.
Besides weight watchers I have taken up going for walks. My ultimate dream is to be a runner. Both of my parents jog. I would love to be able to go for a 6 mile run. I am not there yet so I am walking. I hope to show great walking spots in the bay area in this blog.
On 1/4/10 I weighed 271.8, which is my heaviest...I hope ever! On 2/22/10 I was 252.8 at my weight watchers meeting....for a total loss of 19 lbs. I am happy with that but have a lot longer to go. By 2011 I want to be under 200lbs for the first time in my adult life.

So that is me. This is my journey. I will be posting many things on here that are not about my weight loss. I have finally put me first on my list and am making this happen!
